There are going to be numerous instances when they will literally be telling your where to go, what to say, and how to say it. Mutual respect is needed if tempers aren’t going to boil over.
Your campaign manager needs to charismatic and likeable. They also have to be able to quickly motivate large numbers of people to get things done quickly. You need to keep in mind that most of the people that the campaign manager is going to be counting on are volunteers, and working with people who aren’t getting a paycheck is never easy. A good campaign manager will be able to put everything together so that you can focus on appealing to the voters.
